Outpatient CT

Advanced imaging support with continuity of care
Valley Vets provides a local outpatient CT referral service, giving pets access to advanced diagnostic imaging whilst allowing ongoing care to remain with their regular veterinary practice.
Our collaborative approach means patients benefit from advanced imaging and specialist interpretation, while their own veterinary team remains at the centre of case management and client communication.
Information for Pet Owners
If your vet recommends a CT scan for your pet, they can refer you directly to Valley Vets for imaging.
You do not need to register with Valley Vets for routine veterinary care. Your pet will attend our hospital for their CT scan, and once the imaging has been completed, the results will be sent back to your own veterinary surgeon, who will discuss the findings, treatment options and next steps with you.
This allows your pet’s ongoing care to remain with the veterinary team you know and trust, whilst accessing advanced diagnostic imaging when needed.
Our outpatient CT package includes:
- Pre-anaesthetic blood tests
- General anaesthetic
- Intravenous fluid therapy
- CT scan
- Intravenous contrast studies where indicated
- Specialist interpretation of the scan
- Comprehensive report sent directly to your veterinary surgeon
Most reports are returned within 3 working days. Faster reporting options are available when clinically required.
Should your pet require additional support, Valley Vets benefits from the reassurance of a fully equipped 24/7 veterinary hospital with experienced medical, surgical and emergency care teams on site.
In most cases we are able to offer direct claims for our outpatient CT scans, please speak to a member of the team for further information.
For more information, please speak with your veterinary surgeon or email [email protected].
Why CT?
CT provides rapid, highly detailed imaging and can often answer diagnostic questions that cannot be fully assessed using conventional radiography alone. It is particularly valuable for investigating complex orthopaedic, neurological, respiratory and nasal conditions, as well as for surgical planning
What Can CT Help Diagnose?
CT (Computed Tomography) provides detailed cross-sectional imaging that can offer significantly greater diagnostic information than conventional radiography in many cases.
Your veterinary surgeon may recommend CT imaging to investigate a wide range of conditions, including:
Head and Neck
- Nasal disease and chronic nasal discharge
- Ear disease and middle ear infections
- Head trauma
Orthopaedics and Lameness
- Complex fractures
- Elbow dysplasia
- Lameness investigations
- Surgical planning for orthopaedic procedures
Chest and Respiratory Disease
- Lung disease
- Pulmonary masses
- Thoracic trauma
- Investigation of abnormal chest radiographs
Abdominal Conditions
- Abdominal masses
- Liver, kidney and adrenal abnormalities
- Investigation of complex medical cases
Neurological Disease
- Intervertebral disc disease
- Spinal abnormalities
Exotic Species
Valley Vets is proud to offer CT imaging for a wide range of exotic species, including rabbits, small mammals, birds and reptiles, supporting both first opinion and referral cases.
If you are unsure whether CT would be beneficial for your patient, our team is happy to discuss case suitability with your veterinary surgeon prior to referral.
