Nico's naughty snack...

Unbeknown to her owners, Nico thought that a baby wipe would make a tasty snack. Nico soon became unwell but the cause of her illness was unknown.

Her little belly felt strange when we examined her and an x-ray was taken to try and understand why. Unfortunately, the offending object was not visible, and a decision was made to perform a barium study (barium is visible on an x-ray and will highlight an object that may be invisible).

The barium study revealed that there was indeed something foreign in her intestines. Repeated x-rays revealed that the object wasn't moving along and a decision to operate on her was soon reached.

The offending object, initially thought to be a small sock, but confirmed by Nico's owner as a baby wipe was removed, and Nico is now completely back to normal, apart from sporting a scar on her belly to show off to her friends.
