Through the Keyhole...

Following many months of training and investment in new equipment, Valley Vets are now one of a very small number of practices in South Wales to offer Laparoscopic Spay surgery to our clients.

It is well established in human surgery that keyhole procedures involve smaller incisions, less pain and a far more rapid recovery. Studies have shown that this is the case in our pets also.

Using two very small incisions we are now able to perform spay surgery, as well as some other procedures, with minimal pain or trauma to our patients. This means that they can be up and running again soon after surgery. There is no need for stitches or, in most cases, the dreaded "cone of shame”.

The keyhole surgery procedures will be offered at our Cardiff Hospital by our senior surgeon, Rob Harry.
