COVID-19 - Repeat Prescription Update

Due to the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation we are needing to change our protocols for repeat medication requests. We would like to thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding whilst our teams are adapting to new working environments to ensure we can still provide essential urgent and emergency care for all of our patients.

As of today we will be:

  • Prioritising essential medication requests e.g heart medications, anti-epileptic medications, pain relief etc
  • Delaying prescribing of routine preventative medications such as flea and worm treatments - we would politely request that if your pet is in need of these routine treatments you delay your request until next week to give our teams time to adapt to the new restrictions on their work.
  • We will only be able to prescribe one month of medication at a time.
  • If your cat suffers from Flea Allergic Dermatitis and relies on regular prescription flea treatment to manage their condition please make our reception teams aware and we will ask the vet team to action this request along with other essential medication requests.

Over the next week we will be working hard to develop a postal and/or delivery service for our clients to minimise the needs for our clients to travel, and to further reduce the risk of exposure to our teams. Further details will follow.

Please do not make unnecessary trips to our surgeries at this time. This is not only to protect our teams, but yourselves and the wider community.

Thank you for your understanding- The Valley Vets Teamheart
